WHO WE ARE ///
We Move Against The Tides (WMATT) is a music website based out of the Bay Area in California. Launching February 12, 2012, we have pushed toward interviewing and reviewing local and underrated artists and bands who are from or currently within the Bay Area. We also publish columns which take into account the music scene in today’s society, in the Bay Area, and we document the state of music today and it’s influence. OUR VISION ///
We Move Against The Tides’ vision is to bring to light music artists you may not be familiar with and to portray new sides of music artists you may already know. It is to highlight those who have a voice along with those who do not. Because our focus is on an area specific music scene, it is easier to provide detailed interviews, reviews, and articles to our readers. We are aiming to redistribute information that is underrated and that is not in mainstream media so that the representation is returned to the majority. We believe that community is the basis to growing, the catalyst for change, and the only way we can adapt to break barriers. We believe in our neighbors, relationships, and the power of community and it’s affect on music culture. We believe that by building a stronger community revolved around music – we can grow as a society.
